Guilty plea in robbery of Prairie Village credit union
A man who was recognized by multiple people, including his probation officer, pleaded guilty Wednesday to robbing a Prairie Village credit union.
Tarone Hollins, 41, also known as Tarone Shipp, pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court in Kansas City, Kan., to the robbery last October of the CommunityAmerica Credit Union at 7620 State Line Road.
After surveillance camera photos of the robbery were released by the FBI, the agency received 11 tips from callers to the Tips Hotline identifying Hollins, according to court documents.
One of those calls was from a federal probation officer who was supervising him in a money counterfeiting case. A co-worker of Hollins also recognized him from the photographs, according to court documents.
Sentencing for Hollins will be scheduled at a later date.
