Carjackers shoot at police during chase from KCK into KC

Two armed carjacking suspects were arrested Monday night in Kansas City after firing shots at officers who were pursuing them.

The carjacking was reported about 8:30 p.m. Monday at Third Street and Central Avenue in Kansas City, Kan. A short time later, officers saw the stolen vehicle near 24th Street and Parallel Parkway.

Police began to pursue. Shots were fired at police, but no one was injured. The pursuit continued across the state line, where the suspects stopped at Interstate 70 and Main Street. The driver gave up; the passenger tried to flee but was caught by officers.
