Domestic violence call leads to standoff in Lee’s Summit

Lee’s Summit police are engaged in a standoff with a man who won’t leave a house after a domestic violence call.

Officers are keeping neighbors away from the area and have closed the 400 block of Northeast Westwind Drive, just east of Missouri 291 and Northeast Langsford Road.

Police were sent to the home about 6:30 a.m. on a domestic violence call. A woman was able to leave the house, but a man remained inside, said Lee’s Summit Police Sgt. Chris Depue. They remained in a standoff about two hours later.
