18-year-old is charged in a series of violent armed robberies
A Kansas City teenager has been charged in a series of violent armed robberies.
Eduardo Toledo, 18, is accused of committing seven armed street and residential robberies during a span of eight days earlier this year.
Toledo has been in custody since January. He and two other teens were charged with robbing three people in different incidents on Jan. 22.
Jackson County prosecutors now have charged Toledo with committing four more holdups.
The new charges stem from crimes committed between Jan. 14 and 20, according to court documents.
Victims were assaulted during the robberies. One man was shot and others were pistol-whipped, according to court documents.
In all, Toledo is facing 15 felony charges related to robberies that occurred in widely separate parts of the city.
He also was charged in December with two counts of unlawful use of a weapon.
Toledo was free on bond in that case when the robberies were committed.
