KCK teen sentenced in woman’s killing
A Kansas City, Kan., teenager was sentenced Thursday to 12 years and 11 months in prison for killing a woman last summer.
Lamount A. Ford, 16, was sentenced in Wyandotte County District Court where he pleaded guilty in May to a charge of second-degree murder in the shooting death of Nola Pierce.
He killed Pierce, 28, last July 25 outside a residence in the 1200 block of Everett Avenue.
Ford, who was 15 at the time, initially was charged as a juvenile but a judge ordered him to be tried as an adult.
