St. Patrick’s Day checkpoint in KC leads to 36 DUI arrests
A St. Patrick’s Day checkpoint in Kansas City netted 36 arrests for driving under the influence.
Kansas City police said they stopped more than 700 vehicles at 39th Terrace and Southwest Trafficway during the checkpoint late Thursday night and early Friday morning.
In addition to the DUI arrests, police said they arrested three wanted fugitives and made four arrests for illegal narcotics.
Three drivers were cited for not using seat belts, and 11 others were cited for attempting to avoid the checkpoint.
