Jackson County prosecutors announced charges Thursday against a second man accused of raping a woman at gunpoint in Kansas City earlier this year.

Esmin Geovany Flores-Rodriguez, 19, has been charged with rape, sodomy or attempted sodomy, assault and tampering with a motor vehicle in connection with the Jan. 9 incident. He is the second man charged in the case, after 20-year-old Omar Lopez-Maldonado was charged in January.

The men are accused of abducting a woman at gunpoint in the 1200 block of Fremont Avenue and taking her to an unknown location, where they allegedly raped and sodomized her.

According to court records, police tracked down Lopez-Maldonado through a phone number, and with the help of federal immigration agents located Flores-Rodriguez in North Carolina, where he is in custody.
