Kansas City robbers beat man with tree branch

A Kansas City man was beaten with a tree branch and robbed Wednesday afternoon in the Northeast area of the city.

The victim told police that he was sitting in an alley in the 3200 block of East Thompson Avenue about 3:40 p.m. Wednesday when three males walked up and began hitting him in the face and head with a branch.

The attackers rifled through his pockets and took his money before running away.

The man was taken to a hospital for treatment of cuts to his head and face. A detailed description of the attackers was not available.
