Feathered suspect identified in KC costume shop caper
Kansas City authorities now know the name of the man arrested last week after breaking into a costume shop and donning a puffy yellow cape and hat with feathers.
Trever Heman, a 19-year-old resident of East Helena, Mont., initially was charged in Jackson County Circuit Court as “John Doe 87” because he refused to give his name to police and a check of fingerprints failed to reveal his identity.
Authorities did not say Tuesday how they identified Heman.
He is charged with felony counts of burglary and stealing.
He allegedly broke out a front window of the costume shop in the 2000 block of Grand Avenue, took the gaudy getup and wore it into a nearby bar, where he was arrested after a brief struggle with police.
