Victim shot, robber stabbed in attempted Kansas City robbery
One person suffered a life-threatening gunshot injury during an attempted robbery early Tuesday morning in central Kansas City.
One victim stabbed one of the robbers during the incident in the 4300 block of Virginia Avenue, police said.
Police said that seven people were sitting on a porch about 1 a.m. Tuesday when three people walked up and asked for cigarettes. The visitors then pulled out handguns and demanded money.
One of the people on the porch grabbed a knife and stabbed one of the gunmen in the chest. Another gunman then fired a shot, injuring a person on the porch.
All three robbers ran away.
