Lee’s Summit man is charged with rape of 15-year-old girl
Prosecutors on Wednesday accused a 40-year-old Lee’s Summit man of raping a 15-year-old girl last July.
Ricky W. Manning was charged with first-degree rape or attempted rape, second-degree statutory rape and second-degree statutory sodomy.
According to court records, the victim said she and a friend were watching movies at the friend’s house before falling asleep. Manning later awoke her, demanded sex and said that if she didn’t comply, he would tell a friend in a Kansas City organized crime network.
When she tried to leave, Manning allegedly grabbed her by the wrist. He allegedly choked her during the sexual assault.
When someone walked into the room, Manning allegedly stopped.
The 15-year old girl received treatment afterward at St. Luke’s East Hospital.
Tests of DNA material recovered from her at the hospital matched material taken from the defendant.
Prosecutors requested a bond of $100,000.
