Blue Springs man receives five-year sentence for child pornography
A Blue Springs man received a five-year federal prison sentence Tuesday for child pornography offenses.
Randall R. Brooks, 58, had pleaded guilty in October to distributing child pornography over the Internet.
In January 2014, an FBI task force officer downloaded multiple child pornography videos from Brooks’ computer. That March, officers executed a search warrant at his home and seized computers and hard drives. Examiners later found more than 1,300 photos and 387 videos containing child pornography.
Brooks admitted to investigators that he searched for and downloaded images of child pornography and shared those images through a peer-to-peer file-sharing network.
Brooks will serve the sentence, imposed by U.S. District Judge Dean Whipple, without possibility of parole.
