Goat stolen from Deanna Rose Children’s Farmstead recovered at Olathe McDonald’s
Five teenagers were arrested and charged with trespassing and theft early Sunday after they reportedly stole a goat from the Deanna Rose Children’s Farmstead at 13800 Switzer Road, Overland Park police said.
The stolen goat was spotted in a McDonald’s parking lot in Olathe around 2 a.m. Sunday, said police spokesman Gary Mason.
Olathe police found the goat when they arrived. They contacted Overland Park police when they found out it was from the Deanna Rose Children’s Farmstead, a popular family attraction that’s home to around 200 animals.
“At that point, we didn’t know it was missing,” Mason said.
Olathe police said the teens took the goat into the restaurant at 151st Street and Black Bob Road.
“They asked them to leave and they did,” said Sgt. Bryan Hill, an Olathe police spokesman.
Mason said he didn’t know how the teenagers managed to pull off the kidnapping.
“I don’t know how they got in there,” Mason said. “But the goat is now back where it belongs.”
