Charges filed in fatal Kansas City wreck
A 29-year-old Kansas City man has been charged in connection with a March traffic crash that killed another man and injured three other people.
Jackson County prosecutors charged Anthony M. Byers with first-degree involuntary manslaughter in the March 10 death of 45-year-old Duane E. Shelton Sr. They also charged him with three counts of second-degree assault.
Prosecutors allege that Byers was driving while intoxicated when he ran a flashing red light at 27th Street and Benton Boulevard.
