Parkville man dies in one-vehicle accident on Interstate 435

A 42-year-old Parkville man was killed early Friday in a single vehicle accident at 1:20 a.m. on Interstate 435, just north of Northwest Tiffany Park Road.

The victim was identified as Corey A. Swanson. According to initial reports, Swanson was southbound on I-435 when his vehicle struck the median and went airborne down an embankment between two bridges before hitting the pavement.

Swanson, who was wearing a seat belt, died at the scene, the Missouri Highway Patrol reported.
