Suspect in murder of Pittsburg State student arrested in Mexico

One of four men charged with the 2014 killing of a Pittsburg State University student has been arrested in Mexico, the U.S. Marshals Service announced Monday.

Bryan Levi Bridges, 21, is charged with first-degree murder in the death of 20-year-old Taylor Thomas, a mechanical engineering student who was shot Oct. 9, 2014, in a home invasion robbery in Pittsburg and died later at a hospital.

Bridges faces several charges, including felony murder and conspiracy to commit aggravated robbery. Mexican authorities arrested him Sunday night in Juarez. The marshals service said he now is in custody in El Paso, Texas.

Arrangements are now being made to extradite him to Kansas.
