News anchor Christa Dubill reports possible ‘upskirt’ photo attempt at Overland Park grocery

Overland Park police are investigating a man suspected of taking photos under the skirt of local television journalist Christa Dubill while she shopped at a grocery store.

Dubill, who works for KSHB-TV, posted details of the Sunday afternoon incident on Facebook, and then Monday on the station’s news website.

She told police that she was shopping in the store in the 6900 block of West 135th Street when she noticed the man behind her.

“I glanced back and there was a man bent over about three feet behind me turning his cellphone onto video and positioning it in his little shopping carry basket,” Dubill posted on Facebook.

Dubill said that she used her own phone to take the man’s picture and then, after confirming the incident on store surveillance video, confronted him and asked him to show her his phone.

The man left the store. Another person took pictures of his vehicle as he drove away.

On Monday, Overland Park police said that based on those pictures, they found the vehicle parked at an Overland Park apartment complex and spoke with the man early Monday morning.

Detectives are continuing to investigate, police said Monday afternoon.
