Independence police investigate death of woman

Independence police are investigating the death of a woman whose body was found about 7:30 a.m in a parking lot in the 3500 block of South Noland Road.

There were no signs of trauma or foul play, and investigators have not determined how long the woman had been there, said Officer Tom Gentry, police spokesman.

The Jackson County Medical Examiner has been summoned to determine the cause of death.
