KC police accuse intoxicated woman of stabbing boyfriend

A 23-year-old Kansas City woman was arrested early Tuesday after she allegedly stabbed her live-in boyfriend repeatedly in the back with a butcher knife after they argued.

The incident was reported about 1:30 a.m. in the 5600 block of Norton Avenue. Police found the woman asleep, intoxicated and covered with her boyfriend’s blood while holding two small children in her arms.

Police said the 27-year-old victim and the woman argued about her drinking. The man said he was going to leave and began packing an overnight bag. The woman rushed in and repeatedly stabbed him in the back.

He suffered severe wounds but managed to call 911. He was taken to a hospital in serious condition. Officers arrested the woman without incident.
