Former Warrensburg School District employee accused of raping girl

The former director of information technology for the Warrensburg School District has been accused of a sexually abusing a girl for more than five years, starting when she was 5, the Johnson County prosecutor’s office said Tuesday.

Darron Joseph Chapman of Warrensburg is charged with first-degree statutory rape and four counts of statutory sodomy. According to court records, the assaults occurred between Oct. 17, 2008, and Friday.

Chapman resigned June 17 after working 13 years for the district, said Superintendent Scott Patrick. The district has not been contacted by police and did not have details about the criminal allegations. Patrick declined to comment about the charges.
