Shots are fired at Overland Park police officers
A 44-year-old man was arrested early Thursday after shots were fired at Overland Park police officers.
No officers were injured.
The incident began about 1:30 a.m. Thursday when police responded to a disturbance in the 10800 block of Mackey Street.
When police arrived, a man refused to come out of an apartment bedroom. As officers tried to get him to come out, he began firing shots. The officers retreated without returning fire.
Police called a negotiator. After about an hour, the man surrendered and was taken into custody. He was taken to the Johnson County jail pending a decision on charges by prosecutors.
