Kansas City police involved in shooting

A person was reported in critical condition Tuesday afternoon after being shot by a Kansas City police officer.

The incident occurred about 2:30 p.m. in the 6400 block of East 15th Terrace after officers went to a house looking for a wanted person.

Police said that someone matching the description of the wanted person ran from residence. An officer believed the person was about to shoot at him and fired at the person, according to police.

No officers were injured. Officers performed first aid before the person was taken to a hospital by ambulance.
