Police said they have made an arrest in the shooting death of a teenager killed Monday in east Kansas City.
Authorities have not released the victim’s name.
The shooting was reported just after 10:30 a.m. in the 10400 block of East 39th Terrace, which is just south of U.S. 40 and east of Pittman Road.
Police were investigating the shooting as a homicide but have not said what prompted the incident. The case file has been submitted to the Jackson County juvenile officer to determine whether criminal charges will be filed.

The shooting death was the city’s 16th homicide in 2016.
