Possible human remains found in Kansas City woods

Authorities are investigating after possible human remains were found over the weekend in eastern Kansas City.

Detectives with the Jackson County Drug Task Force contacted Kansas City police Saturday night after several large bones were discovered in a wooded area behind a residence in the 4800 block of Noland Road.

Investigators could not determine if the bones were human or animal. They were turned over to the Jackson County Medical Examiner’s Office for further investigation.
