A Kansas City man has been charged with murder in the Jan. 30 shooting death of Thomas E. Kuzila Jr., Jackson County prosecutors said Saturday.
Lorenzo D. Washington, 29, faces one count of first-degree murder and one count of armed criminal action.
Kuzila, 52, was found shot to death early in the morning in an alley in the 100 block of Brooklyn Avenue, according to police. Investigators believed his pickup truck was stolen after the shooting.
Kuzila was a journeyman with Pipefitters Local 533.
Washington has spent time in Missouri prisons for theft. He was in the custody of Kansas City police Saturday.
Jackson County prosecutors requested a $250,000 bond.
