Police investigate shooting at Belton hotel

A 27-year-old woman was shot Friday outside the Hampton Inn in Belton, police said.

Officers were called to the hotel at 16410 Cornerstone Drive at 11:18 a.m. They found the victim conscious and alert. She was taken to a hospital. Her condition was not released.

Details of what prompted the shooting were not immediately available.

A man suspected in the shooting was arrested about 2:30 p.m. in Belton.

The victim and the shooter were not guests at the hotel, said Lt. Brad Swanson of the Belton Police Department.
