Man is fatally shot at south Kansas City inn

Kansas City police are investigating the city’s 12th homicide of the year.

A man was fatally shot inside the Capital Inn at 6101 E. 87th St. early Friday. Police called to the inn about 2 a.m. found the victim lying in the doorway of one of the rooms.

Four years ago, another man was shot to death there when it was called the A-1 Motel. Court documents in that case described the killing as having occurred during a robbery as the victim visited a prostitute.
