Tonganoxie man admits abuse that fractured baby’s skull
A 30-year-old Tonganoxie man pleaded guilty Monday to fracturing the skull of a 3-month-old boy.
Derek Foote pleaded guilty to aggravated battery, Leavenworth County prosecutors said. Foote also pleaded guilty in another case to possession of marijuana.
Doctors discovered the child’s injury after he had been left in Foote’s care last summer, prosecutors said.
A doctor from Children’s Mercy Hospital determined that the injury was the result of physical abuse, according to prosecutors.
Sentencing for Foote is scheduled for March 11.
