One dead from double shooting in Kansas City

One person has died Sunday following a shooting in downtown Kansas City.

According to the Twitter account of Police Chief Darryl Forte, two people were shot in the parking lof of a gas station in the 600 block of Grand Boulevard. A police officer was near the scene at the time and fired a shot at a suspect, the chief tweeted, “to stop the threat.” That suspect fled the scene in a vehicle.

About 7 p.m. Sunday, the chief’s Twitter account said that one of the victims had died.

Investigators were continuing to probe the incident Sunday evening. Anyone with information on the shooting was urged to call 816-474-TIPS (8477).
