Six arrested for DUI at checkpoint downtown

A sobriety checkpoint at 13th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue yielded six arrests for driving under the influence, the Kansas City Police Department said Saturday.

Police stopped 143 vehicles between 11 p.m. Friday and 4 a.m. Saturday at the downtown checkpoint. In addition to the DUI arrests, two drivers were cited for other traffic violations.
