Kansas City trash collectors discover human remains on route

Kansas City police launched a homicide investigation Friday morning after city trash collectors found human remains on their route at 49th Street and Brooklyn Avenue.

Police did not release a cause of death or details of how the workers discovered the remains. The workers notified police about 8:30 a.m.

Investigators are trying to identify the victim.
