Victim in south Kansas City shooting death identified

Police officers dispatched about 4:30 p.m. Wednesday to the 8600 block of East 114th Street found Emorye Spriggs lying in the street. He died after being taken to a hospital, police said.
Police officers dispatched about 4:30 p.m. Wednesday to the 8600 block of East 114th Street found Emorye Spriggs lying in the street. He died after being taken to a hospital, police said.

Police have identified a 20-year-old man fatally wounded Wednesday near the Ruskin Heights neighborhood west of Longview Lake as Emorye Spriggs of Kansas City.

Officers dispatched about 4:30 p.m. to the 8600 block of East 114th Street found Spriggs lying in the street. He died after being taken to a hospital, police said.

Witnesses said a four-door vehicle sped away after the shooting.
