Two men are arrested after Lenexa undercover police officer is shot at

Police arrested two men after multiple rounds were fired at an officer conducting undercover surveillance in Lenexa.

The incident began shortly before 10 p.m. Wednesday as the officer was doing undercover surveillance in an ongoing criminal investigation at an unspecified location in Lenexa.

The officer saw a vehicle leave and he followed in his unmarked vehicle as it headed into Shawnee. The officer requested assistance from a marked patrol vehicle to stop the vehicle.

As the officer coordinated with other officers, someone inside the vehicle fired multiple rounds at the undercover officer. Several officers responded and disabled the men’s vehicle with a tire deflation device in Shawnee.

Police arrested the two men.
