Girl reports attempted abduction in Northeast area
Police are looking for a man who reportedly tried to abduct a girl Monday in the Northeast area of Kansas City.
A girl reported that the driver of a white flatbed truck slowed down and tried to abduct her as she walked near Roberts Street and Indiana Avenue, said Capt. Tye Grant of the Kansas City Police Department.
The man pulled his truck near the girl and asked if she wanted a ride, Grant said.
“When she refused, he actually got out of the truck,” Grant said. “She was able to push herself away from him and run. He got back in his truck and left.”
No similar attempted abductions have been reported, he said. A complete description of the man was not available.
Police ask anyone with information to call the Tips Hotline at 816-474-8477.
