Police said that thieves stole two cars the week before Christmas from areas in the north part of the city.
Credit cards left in the vehicles were used or attempted to be used at several retail outlets.
Police released a surveillance camera image of a person of interest in one of those transactions.
The person was driving a silver sedan similar to one of the stolen vehicles.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Lenexa detectives Gonzalez or Rader at 913-477-7300 or the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-8477.
