Grandview police seek clues in apparent hit-and-run fatality

Grandview police said Tuesday that a man who died after being found injured in a street appears to have been the victim of a hit-and-run.

A preliminary autopsy determined that the injuries suffered by 38-year-old Scott Morris were consistent with him being struck by a vehicle, police said.

Morris, of Grandview, was found about 1:45 a.m. Sunday in the 12800 block of the East Outer Road along Interstate 49. He died early Monday at a hospital.

Police are asking anyone who saw a dark SUV in the area at that time to call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-8477.

Police believe the vehicle may have damage on the front end or driver’s side.
