Police investigate two KC homicides
A man wounded in an early Monday morning shooting in southeast Kansas City has died, police said Tuesday.
The victim was shot about 12:10 a.m. Monday in an apartment complex breezeway in the 9300 block of Bales Avenue. He suffered several gunshot wounds and was taken to a hospital, where he later died, according to police.
A witness who was with the man said they were knocking on an apartment door when someone walked up and fired shots. The alleged shooter fled in a dark car, possibly a Chevrolet Camaro.
The day’s second fatal shooting occurred about 5:45 p.m. Monday at 10th Street and Monroe Avenue.
The teenage victim was found inside a vehicle. He was rushed to a hospital, where he died from his injuries, police said.
A second victim, a teenage female, arrived at a hospital a short time later with a gunshot wound to her foot. She was listed in fair condition.
Witnesses told police that four males fled the scene immediately after the shooting.
