KC police investigate killing of cows in Northland

Kansas City police are investigating the killing of two cows in a Northland pasture.

A rancher reported to police that the animals were killed sometime between 5 p.m. Monday and 8 a.m. Tuesday.

The rancher said that one of the animals appeared to have been butchered and taken away, except for several body parts.

The carcass of the other cow was left behind. That animal had recently given birth to a calf, police said.

Property crimes detectives with the department’s North Patrol Division are investigating. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call them at 816-437-6222 or 816-437-6200.
