Lenexa man faces sex assault charge
A sexual assault charge has been filed against a Lenexa man previously prosecuted for molesting a student at the Kansas School for the Deaf in Olathe.
The new charge of aggravated sexual battery filed Monday against Rodney Eugene Sexton alleges that the victim, who is older than 16, was incapable of giving consent because of “mental deficiency or disease.”
The alleged incident occurred Saturday. Sexton, 53, was arrested that night.
His bond is set at $100,000.
In the 1980s, Sexton worked as a dormitory supervisor at the School for the Deaf, and was convicted of sodomy and aggravated indecent liberties with a child.
He was sentenced to prison in 1988, but was released after serving a few months.
