Platte County deputies seize 180 pounds of marijuana in traffic stop and arrest California woman
Platte County sheriff’s deputies seized about 180 pounds of marijuana from a California woman in a traffic stop Thursday on Interstate 435, according to authorities.
The sheriff’s office said Friday that a deputy stopped the woman as she drove east on I-435 near Northwest Cookingham Drive.
The deputy reported an odor of marijuana in the car and described the driver, a woman from Arcata, Calif., as being “extremely nervous.” Deputies brought a drug-sniffing dog to the vehicle and found about 180 pounds of marijuana.
The woman was arrested and held at the Platte County jail pending charges.
