Prairie Village bank robbed

A bank in Prairie Village was robbed early Friday afternoon.

Police said no one was injured in the robbery about 1 p.m. at the UMB branch at 6900 Mission Road, across the street from the Prairie Village Shopping Center.

According to initial reports, the robber handed a note to a bank employee announcing the hold-up. He fled with an undisclosed amount of money.

Authorities described the robber as a white man in his 40s or 50s with a medium build. He is about 5 feet, 5 inches tall. He was wearing a white baseball hat with a dark bill, a dark zip-up hoodie, blue jeans and black shoes with white heels. He carried a dark bag.
