De Soto man gets life sentence for stabbing and strangling Prairie Village man
A 33-year-old De Soto man was sentenced Wednesday to life in prison for killing a Prairie Village man in October 2013.
Dustin Adam Maynard must serve 25 years in prison before he is eligible for parole.
Maynard pleaded guilty in October to first-degree murder for stabbing and strangling 21-year-old Jordan MacDonald. His partially burned body was found near Maynard’s apartment.
The night before the killing, Maynard and MacDonald were at a bar in De Soto. MacDonald agreed to give Maynard a ride home.
Detectives and crime scene investigators later found blood in Maynard’s apartment that they linked to MacDonald through DNA testing.
