Olathe man is sentenced for Weston bank robbery
An Olathe man was sentenced Tuesday to 11 years and three months in federal prison for the armed robbery of a Weston bank last year.
Marcus Aurellius Moon, 30, was sentenced in U.S. District Court in Kansas City, where he previously pleaded guilty to using a 9 mm handgun to hold up the Bank of Weston on Oct. 22, 2014.
After the robbery, he was arrested by police in Atchison, Kan., after a car chase in which several police vehicles were damaged. Police recovered the gun, a mask and a large amount of cash in Moon’s car.
