Lee’s Summit High School student tells of list of ‘people I want to kill’

A student at Lee’s Summit High School was removed from school Monday after revealing the creation of a list called “People I want to kill,” police said.

The student approached a staff member seeking assistance. During the conversation, the student revealed the existence of the list.

The staff member immediately notified the school security officer. The school was not placed on lockdown.

“The police department has opened an investigation and is working with the school district and the child’s parents to investigate the incident,” a police statement said.

It was unclear whether the incident would result in charges.

Police said no other students were involved.
