Standoff in Kansas City that started with a scream for help ends peacefully
A police standoff that began early Wednesday after a person was heard screaming for help ended peacefully when a barricaded person surrendered.
Police surrounded a Kansas City apartment building in the 4200 block of Troost Avenue about 4:05 a.m. after a caller told 911 dispatchers that there was a disturbance with a person screaming for help.
Police initiated an Operation 100, tactical response to a person barricaded inside a building refusing to surrender. The standoff ended peacefully shortly before 9 a.m. when the person surrendered to police.
Police was holding the person while they investigated the alleged assault.
