Law enforcement officers on Sunday shot and killed a man who they said threatened them with a weapon as they were responding to a reported domestic dispute east of St. Joseph.
The Missouri Highway Patrol’s Troop H said the incident happened about 10:18 a.m. at U.S. 36 and Thornton Road in DeKalb County. Troopers and the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department encountered a man with a weapon and ordered him to drop it. The man pointed the weapon at the officers, who shot and killed him.
The man’s name was not immediately released. The patrol and the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department are investigating.
