Gunman in custody following Independence bank robbery

Independence police have arrested a gunman who held up the Arvest Bank branch in the 4300 block of South Noland Road.

The incident occurred about 11 a.m. Friday. The gunman entered the bank and demanded money. No shots were fired and no injuries were reported and the gunman fled with an undisclosed amount of cash. He was later arrested.

Authorities are continuing their investigation. No other details were available.
