Police identify Kansas City man fatally stabbed Tuesday
Police have identified the victim of a fatal stabbing Tuesday near 13th Street and Woodland Avenue as Frederick Burtin of Kansas City.
Police found Burtin, 49, outside an apartment. He had been stabbed during a confrontation with another man. Officers performed CPR on Burtin before he was taken to a hospital and later died.
The suspect barricaded himself inside a building. A police tactical response team tried to enter but backed away when the suspect became combative. The man surrendered to police several hours later.
No charges have been filed.
