Jackson County prosecutors accuse man of raping three girls
Jackson County authorities have charged a 46-year-old Kansas City man with sex crimes involving three girls who were younger than 12.
James L. Canada Jr. faces four counts of sodomy, rape and child molestation. According to court records, the incidents first happened in 2009 and continued into this year. One victim said Canada threatened to kill another victim if she told anyone about the abuse, according to court records. Two of the victims said they were 8 years old when the abuse started.
Canada is being held in lieu of a $200,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court Dec. 9.
