Guilty plea in Johnson County bank robbery
A 56-year-old Kansas City man pleaded guilty Monday to robbing an Overland Park bank last year.
Steve A. Watts was one of two men who held up the Bank of America at 9500 Mission Road in October 2014.
Watts and Clifton B. Cloyd were armed with guns during the robbery. Several employees and a customer were punched or pistol-whipped and one woman was dragged through the bank by her hair during the robbery.
Cloyd, who previously pleaded guilty, is scheduled to be sentenced Jan. 11. Sentencing for Watts is scheduled for Feb. 8.
